At HUM, we are an integrated health care team so you will receive health care services from a number of different health care providers, such as nurses, physicians, and psychologists, based on your needs. We take a holistic approach to health; therefore we will be exploring biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions, rather than looking at health issues or diagnoses in isolation.
Mental Health - Anxiety
Anxiety is a common term used to describe feeling worried, nervous, uneasy or scared. Anxiety is fear based and future focused; it is a feeling in response to an upcoming event where there is a lot of uncertainty. Many people experience anxiety at one time or another, as it is part of our brain’s response to a perceived danger — even if that danger is not real.
Mental Health - Depression
Everyone occasionally feels sad or blue. These feelings are usually short-lived and pass within a couple of days, and may be directly related to external situations that are troubling you. With Depression, it can interfere with daily life and cause pain for both you and those who care about you. It is often not tied to specific situations or triggers, which makes it even more frustrating for you and your support network.
Mental Health - Unknown Mental Health Issues
Sometimes mental health issues do not seem to fit within a category and/or pull from multiple categories. Both of which can feel overwhelming, but there is hope. With proper assessment, mental health resources and treatment that can be provided at HUM, you have the opportunity to get some clarity and begin to make sense of what is going on within your experience.
