Substance abuse is one of the many issues Canadians are facing in their day-to-day lives. Over 6 million Canadians (around 21% of the population) will struggle with addiction at some point in their lives. Many of us know of someone who struggles with addiction as well. Each form of abuse can lead to dependency which is extremely difficult to overcome or even impossible without proper help and addiction counseling.
People from all walks of life turn to drugs, alcohol, sex, or gambling due to many reasons such as experimentation, peer pressure, self-medication, and recreational purposes. Every user is different and sometimes this may not lead to becoming an addict, but the risk of addiction starts from the moment of first use. Age is also a major factor, with younger individuals having a higher chance of becoming addicted to drugs while experimenting. Our intensive treatments can help uncover the underlying reasons for an individual’s addiction, and begin assessing different issues that have contributed to their condition. By doing this, we can help the patient achieve wellness and live confidently without the need to abuse certain substances or behaviors.
We have different programs to help all kinds of patients. What works for one might not work for another. That’s why it’s very important to be truthful and upfront about your condition so that we can decide what the best option is for you.
