In this message we continue to explore the ABCDE characteristics of Addiction that come from the American Society of Addiction Medicine definition of Addiction. This week we focus on the ‘D’ which is diminished recognition of problems in relationships and behaviour. The others are:
A-inability to consistently abstain
B-impairment in behavioural control
Next week we will review the ‘E’ characteristic of Addiction-dysfunctional emotional response.
