Occupational Health and Wellness

At HUM, we are an integrated health care team so you will receive health care services from a number of different health care providers, such as nurses, physicians, and psychologists, based on your needs. We take a holistic approach to health; therefore we will be exploring biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions, rather than looking at health issues or diagnoses in isolation.

Corporate Wellness and Education Sessions

What is the goal of the program?

Corporate wellness education sessions are helpful for preventative engagement of employees and promoting health and wellness in the workplace. They are also useful when challenges arise, as they are an opportunity to gather information and tools for coping. Common corporate wellness education session topics include:

Dealing with Stress, Mental Health and Wellness program, Self-care, Mindfulness and Relaxation, ...

Independent Medical Evaluation (IME)

What is the goal of the program?

An IME provides a thoroughly objective, impartial assessment of an individual’s diagnoses, prognosis and recommendations for treatment and recovery. An IME occurs when the physician and health care team have not previously been involved in a person’s care. There is no ongoing doctor/therapist-patient relationship.

At HUM, we specialize in IMEs focused on addiction treatment, mental health and chronic pain issues.

Fitness to Work Assessment (FTW)

Fit to work” or “fitness to work” is a medical assessment done when an employer wishes to be sure an employee can safely do a specific job or task. The purpose is to determine if medically the employee can perform the job or task under the working conditions. Fitness to work assessments are most often done to determine medical fitness after an illness or injury, but are sometimes done after employment has been offered, as requested by the employer, or as a condition of a job transfer.
