What is Addiction counselling at HUM?
At HUM, we provide Calgary addiction counselling for addictions of all types. We begin all of our services with a comprehensive assessment to identify the client’s needs. The assessment helps determine the specific needs of the individual and tailor their treatment plan accordingly.
Addiction counselling at HUM includes individual and group Addiction counselling for continuing care. Following the comprehensive assessment, the individual and the HUM team will work together to determine what type of Addiction treatment is required. We make referrals to Addiction detox and rehabilitation programs when needed.

What are the benefits of Addiction counselling?
Counselling using a psychotherapeutic approach aims to increase an individual’s sense of his/her own well being. At HUM, we use a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication and behavior change that are designed to improve the mental health of a client or patient, or to improve group relationships (such as in a family). Our goal is to provide an open, supportive, and confidential environment for you to address the issues that are concerning you.
Benefits to addiction counselling at HUM include professional guidance in recovery, medication management, supportive outpatient continuing care in the form of individual and group counselling, with a variety of healthcare practitioners and a holistic approach that utilizes a bio-psycho-social-spiritual framework. We also offer an Intensive Outpatient Program for those who are looking for more intensive therapy than individual or group counselling but for whom residential treatment may not be appropriate or an option.
The benefits of being in recovery for Addiction is life changing. The HUM team are here to provide support to you as you get started on or maintain your journey.
